A fixture of the Colorado Springs mortgage industry since 1998, Jay Garvens has spent years developing a unique and comprehensive approach to lending and financial education. He has held several diverse positions at all levels of the lending industry; founded his own mortgage company; branched into radio and other educational media; and coordinates these ventures’ efforts to lead clients through the entire loan process while emphasizing education and superior customer service.
Jay’s introduction to the mortgage industry came in 1998 when he joined Top Gun Mortgage in Colorado Springs. After six years, he ventured out on his own, founding Garvens Mortgage Group in 2005 and establishing two companies: Colorado Springs Home Mortgage Loans and VA LoanSource. At present, he has personally originated over 850 loans and, through his roles as branch manager, Vice President, and company owner, supervised the origination of over 4,000 loans.
In 2011, Jay launched the Jay Garvens Show: Home Mortgage Talk on KRDO News Radio. His unique approach to home mortgage talk blends advice and insights on mortgages, personal finance, the real estate and construction industries, and economics. To date, he has hosted over 150 educational shows covering all aspects of the lending and real estate industries.
Owing to the complementary nature of his mortgage and radio enterprises, Jay coordinates efforts between the two companies to provide mortgage- and real estate-related education and instruction for clients and potential clients. He has hosted educational courses for new home buyers, military home buyers, investors, and those interested in reverse mortgages or general refinances. Since 1998, Jay’s approach to lending has emphasized education and customer service. Today, these principles guide Garvens Mortgage Group in all its ventures. Simply put, its mission is to transparently lead our customers through the loan process by using education, diverse loan options, and superior customer service.
